No, both players will return to SHL next season, then come over for 2021-22.

Holland is announcing 1 signing per day... my guess is this was done a week ago but they were waiting on an extension of the European transfer agreement.

This one is especially nice to see as it has a "Marino" feel to it... a guy who isn't guaranteed a spot but could end up running away with one if given the opportunity.

The SHL is the 3rd best league in the world - better than the AHL by some margin - and Berglund, at just 22, was one if the best defensemen this season. Among 82 defenders that played over 500 ES minutes, Berglund was 10th in controlled zone exits and 14th in controlled zone entries.

Overall, nice signing.

Not much point in having Broberg go to the AHL at this point, he's only 18 and the SHL is a better league and he's close to family there. That the SHL has a decent reputation for developing defensemen doesn't hurt, either.

Only disappointing thing is Berglund switching teams in SHL, would have been nice for Broberg and Berglund paired together in SHL 20-21 then AHL 21-22
