Parayko for Toffoli sign and trade

I think Virtanen is a top 6 forward and can produce with Horvat and Pearson. Canucks need more help on the backend.

Why wouldn’t St. Louis just trade Parayko and sign Toffoli themselves and get more assets?

St Louis says no, Juolevi is a bust and Boeser doesn’t have the same impact as Parayko

Um, the equality of most trades is a subjective matter -- some people might agree, some might not. But this one is so wildly inequitable that it is firmly in the objective zone. Tyler Toffoli isn't close to Colton Parayko's value. Given St Louis' cap situation, the only player on your roster I can conceive of the Blues trading Parayko for is Elias Pettersson.

That’s true and it’s also a trade Vancouver would never make. I can see a trade involving Horvat but they might need to add. That would be comparable to the Seth Jones for Ryan Johanson trade which was 1-1. Trading a Top D man you would probably want a center coming back

Petterssons a top 10 center in the league. If you go by his GAR and and WAR statistics, he's top 2-3 in the league. Parayko is a top 4 defenceman on a team, closer to top 2-3.

The Blues need $3 million from somewhere to re-sign Pietrangelo. How does increasing their cap by the $375,000 difference between Boeser's hit and Parayko's hit help, let alone accomplish, re-signing the Captain?

The only player on your roster that St Louis would CONSIDER trading Parayko for is Elias Pettersson -- not Miller, not Horvat, not Boeser because, as I said, there are cap considerations of which you seem to be blithely ignorant. Whether your team would do that is another matter entirely.

Your implication that Tyler Toffoli would sign a contract allowing his immediate trade somewhere else is charmingly naïve.

Fat chance of Toffoli getting you Colton Parayko, He's value is nowhere close to Parayko's. Possibly Boeser but not Toffoli.

I don't think Hughes for Parayko is an immediate upgrade. It might be in three or four years, but St Louis is winning now.
