MIN takes that and runs if Suter waves his NMC. McMichael is an elite prospect

HELL NO. McMichael looks like a beast and you want to give him up AND a 1st for a 35yo LEFT HANDED DEFENSEMEN!? We have like 50 good to great ones in the system. Orlov is better than Suter, BTW.

Also, Hamonic is bad. You just made the blue line worse, more expensive, while giving up a top tier prospect and a 1st.

This might be worse than the Forseberg trade.

Best thing this team can do is try and keep Dillon on the cheap

Suter will never waive his NMC, but even if he would that's an overpayment. If you're looking for a LD from the Wild, Brodin is better than Suter and younger but he would need an extension if you want a long term option. Wild do need a center prospect like McMichael pretty badly...

Dilly won’t be cheap, a big reason the sharks traded him.

You're really underrating Suter. He's still a #1D in this league. Would have had 60 points this year on a mediocre Wild squad AND he's averaging over 25 mins a night. That would be an extreme compliment to an already dominant Carlson.

McMichael is a blue chip prospect for sure but this is a win-now move. He won't be ready until 2021-22 and Ovie/Backstrom are not getting any younger.

Still doesn't excuse sending your best prospect by far, a good number 4 d-man and a 1st rounder for an aging d-man (an I perfectly know that Suter is still very good, that's why i love him)

Name me one reason why Suter waives his NMC for DC? It's close to his Madison, Wisconsin home plus his Wife is from Minneapolis So yeah he's not waiving and i doubt the Caps can afford his contract anyways over the next 5 years or so,

laugh laugh Fat chance of Bill Guerin eating 33% of Ryan Suters contract over the next 5 years. Not happening and 0% chance of him waiving anyways.

Lmfao that’s the biggest issue you have with this trade. Not the fact that the capitals are giving away a top 20 nhl prospect and a 1st round pick for a guy that is currently 36! Years old and has 5 more years on his contract. To be clear Minnesota would do this trade. You’d be an idiot to think they wouldn’t. Suter is good but he’s old and on a terrible contract. Washington laughs and hangs up the phone. They are so deep at LHD there is no reason to add this dinosaur

Ps BG let’s gmbm sleep with his wife for this offer.

If Suter helps the capitals with now why hasn’t he ever won? If I’m trading a top 20 prospect and a 1st it’s not for a 36 year old D man on a terrible contract. Washington is in win now mode? They just won 2 years ago and they are still one of the best teams in the nhl. Trades like this make teams like Washington into teams like San Jose.

Calling Suter a 1D is beyond stupid. Who literally cares if he plays over 25 minutes a night that’s literally useless in terms of player evaluation. Points for defensemen is also extremely stupid. McMichael is an elite prospect who will become a top 6 C center, Suter is an over the hill defenseman on a god awful contract who is aging hard. AND YOU WANT A FIRST TOO, LMAO. Please just stop watching hockey it’s painfully obvious you have literally no idea what you’re talking about.
