I'm still not convinced on Rafferty is ready for a full time role. I guess I can tolerate Tryamkin under 1M but as a 7th D. I would want a backup for both Rafferty and Tryamkin on D though.

I kind of doubt Leivo will take that contract. Even if he does, he would want more of a role on the team. I think we part ways with him this summer.

Contract estimates are pretty good. I am more on giving Hughes a bridge deal though around 4 years in the 7M range.
hosh liked this.

The thing about all those bad contracts was every single one of them was a trash deal from the moment they were signed. None of them needed to happen but Jim Benning decides to become a **** every July 1st.

I don't think anyone saw the Baertschi contract as a bad thing right away. He was a OK 2LW for a while. Injuries ruined what would have been a nice depth piece. I doubt we would have signed Ferland if we knew Baertschi was healthy.
I still am OK with the Roussel contract. It's a bit much, but we need that type of player on our team. The 2011 team thrived on having grit oriented players such as Burrows, Torres and LaPierre.

I have never liked the Beagle contract or Sutter overall (bonino trade was always awful)
