I think if they can manage to get a return for Allen, Husso comes up as a backup and then Hofer goes AHL

Allen will get traded and they’ll give Husso a shot being the backup

And there ya go. And if Husso moves up to the Blues, Fitzpatrick also moves up to the A. As for Zherenko, he'll do well to battle for a back-up job with Dinamo Moscow, but will probably end up seeing most of his games in the second division with their farm team Dinamo Tver.

If we're just doing hypotheticals, I don't think STL is ready to have Husso as the backup to start next season. He hasn't outgrown the AHL. I'm sure they'd love to get him some NHL games but it's tricky when you're a contender and every game counts. I think even if they trade Allen, they'd pick up a veteran backup for a season and maybe it looks something like this to open the season (pure speculation):

Binnington - NHL starter
Allen / NHL vet - NHL backup

Husso - AHL starter, eventual call-up
Hofer - AHL backup

Fitz - ECHL
Ellis - CHL
Zherenko - MHL/KHL

This would give Hofer a chance to acclimate during his first pro year without the poor optics of sending him to the ECHL, and he could be the AHL regular if/when Husso gets the call-up.
