I think Jesse is worth a first. Hard bargain but Holland is gonna be patient with Pool party unless he gets either a first or a top prospect who can play top 6 in return.

I don’t see why the Jets would do this. Copp is our best defensive forward and we have no need for Puljujarvi and Benning.

Jets really shouldn't move Copp. He's had a geat season in 19-20, is underrated and could have a bigger role next year if Little doesn't come back (because, say, WIN uses their CBO on him)

By acquiring Benning you get a RHD that the Jets need. He plays a good physical defensive game. Pulju could be interesting as he and Laine played disgusting together.

What basis is there to justify the asking price of a 1st for Puljujarvi?

Benning is p good (Copp still better) a RHD of Demelo-Benning-Pionk would not be bad

He had 53 pts in 56 games in Karpat having +30. That stat makes him top 4 in scoring in Liiga being 21 years of age.

Yes his three year stint in edm wasn’t pretty. But edm fans can all agree it was a combination of management mishandling him, hip injury, and Jesse not having the maturity to grow as a great NHL player.

I’m telling you this kid is still bursting with potential. And Kenny is not easily gonna give this kid up for a 2nd round pick or a bottom 6 filler.

How does rfa work if they dont sign 3 years or 26/27 that said the jets should keep copp he cant play 2c but he should be a 3c. Once they lose lowry and matty p if the kids can step up they can have a dirt top9, if they pull a 2c

That's still only an estimated 35ish points in an NHL season (based on the most recent numbers I could find). Who out there is going to offer a 1st for a 22 year old guy that has an unimpressive NHL track record and refuses to play for his current team? Edm isn't exactly in a position to make huge demands in a potential Puljujarvi deal. If they just want to hold on to him and let him stay in Finland, fine, they have every right to do so, but I can't see anybody willing to give up a 1st.

JP, while still having potential is just a reclamation project at this point. Peg loses this trade and if they were giving up Copp, which I don’t see them doing while Littles career is still up in the air (I personally think he retires), they would want someone better than Benning as the plus, especially if giving up a 2nd as well.
