70k over the cap and then we have to sign Tatar/Armia/Gallagher/Danault/Lehkonen/Petry in the offseason. Yeah, that's not going to work.

Krug probably only gets that much if he stays w Boston on a discount. I was hearing that on the open market he gets close to 9

There's no chance he gets that. If he does, whatever GM signs him deserves to be fired.

In the current situation with no cap increase... it is gonna be tough for him to get 9...

Won’t resign Lehkonen, and choose between Tatar and petry

He is an elite left shot puck moving dman. Very highly touted. And the Red Wings are probably the leader on the open market. He will probably stay in the Boston tho

That's a yikes. Lehkonen is our most important bottom 6 player and Tatar and Petry are apart of the core, would rather keep all 3 than overpay Krug

True but a one point, we need to compete with price and Weber or trade them (it won’t happen). Also , we have Caufield, #8 draft 2020, Juulsen , Kotkaniemi, poehling , that can replace Lehkonen, Tatar after 20-21 season

My pleasure Krug isn't signing in Montreal, And no freaking way he takes 7 mil to play there. On the open market he'll easily get between 7.5 mil to 8.0 mil He's home in Michigan staying at his Wifes Parents home pretty much tells me all i need to know.

No it wont, Hometown Detroit can easily give him 9 mil doubt Yzerman goes over 8 mil though I'd agree that if he wants to win he'll need to take a lot less.

Don't think Caufield or Poehling will replace Tatar by 2021-22, but here's hoping. I don't think Bergevin really cares about winning during Price or Weber's prime. He wouldn't of sold at the trade deadline if he wanted to win now. I think he remains committed to winning with the 23-29 YO guys rather than Weber and Price.

Don't think Montreal would be interested anyways at that price point.

Montreal is better off adding Ghost personally then Krug. just don't see Krug having any interest in any Canadian team for what it's worth.

Don't really see Ghost working for Montreal either. He's not good enough defensively for Montreal, at least Krug isn't a liability in his own end.

That's the target probably but he'll end up with somewhere between $7,5M-$8M as @DiehardRedWingsFan58 said.

And it's not like he's signing in Montreal so
