I think Montreal would take it even if you took out Foote. Thats the 10th overall in a deep draft

You trade top 6 forwards who have a lot of elements to their game for picks between 20- 25

That pick would be 17th overall. You would be trading two-way mid-6 winger for at least the same player + cap space + potential of that player being a 1st or 2nd liner easily. I take that.

its not a guarantee. Unless Dubas is 90% confident he can get a second or first liner he won't do it. An I am sure he isn't
Kapanen has so much upside and hasn't even shown his full potential yet. He is also a player we really need

You trade Kapanen for that 1st rounder all day every day. Leafs scouting department is so good that you can make sure its gonna be a better player than Kappy out of it.

Kapanen is a top 6 forward. Plus our window to win is probably in the next 2 years.
This draft pick won't help us next year and maybe the year after

Its not a bad trade but Dubas really needs to be confident in his scouting to do this

Problem I can see with this deal, if I'm Montreal, is that an early draft would mean that the Habs would have no leverage on all those picks. So basically, having a ton of picks in the first 3 rounds gives Bergevin absolutely no advantage if he cannot trade those picks to get better short-term.

So I say Habs keep Domi. Proven Top-6 player. Can play Wing AND Center. Will sign am affordable bridge deal. And Bergevin will try to leverage his Cap space instead of packaging a bunch of draft picks and B prospects to get NHL talent...

Devils as a rebuilding team aren't giving up 2 first rounders in a great draft, and their top forward prospect for Domi and Kapanen.

The first response is Sevs retained for Kap---No!
My problem with Dermott pkg was retention
Cap is key to us getting some good assets, if were giving To their missing RHD its not a deal like that

I’m a habs fan....I take this deal all day thats a good prospect and a potential top 10 pick in a deep draft, nothing against Domi hes great but its to much to pass up
