BEFORE YOU GO ANY FURTHER, PLEASE KNOW THAT I AM FANTASIZING LOL

Two CBOs, because cap stays flat for 2 years; one per year.

Halak and Primeau split starts because I think Primeau will be ready for the NHL by now, and Halak nor Primeau are starters.

Domi plays a 50 point season in 2020-21, so he gets about 4.35M over 3 years.

Jake Evans establishes himself as a solid 3C, so he gets 3C money.

Cale Fleury plays 3rd pair, and does average at his job, so he gets a bit less than a million over 3 years.

Charles Hudon signs with Montreal, then gets traded to Detroit to play in the NHL. The return is not very high, but a lot of players leave Detroit, so Detroit overpays a little.

Jesperi Kotkaniemi plays in the AHL for 2020-21, but if needed, is the first one called up to the NHL. He doesn't really get that much.

Artturi Lehkonen has a 40 point season in 2020-21, earning him a medium-term contract. He spends most of his time on the 2nd and 3rd lines, with Evans, Kovalchuk (2Mx1), Armia, Domi and Suzuki.

Victor Mete gets a 1 year deal in 2020-21 to face off against Chiarot, Romanov and Kulak for the left defense side. Unsurprisingly, Kulak comes out at the bottom, then Mete, then Romanov, then Chiarot. The catch is that Chiarot is playing with Jeff Petry on defense pairing 1A, and Romanov plays with Weber on defense pairing 1B. Mete, Fleury and Kulak rotate playing on the third pair, but Kulak has a really bad season, so sometimes the AHL LD are called up. Ouellet was in the NHL for a good period of time, Leskinen and Olofsson as well. After Ouellet, Leskinen, Olofsson all came up, the decision to trade Kulak was made. He did not perform when given the chance, so he was shipped off to Detroit with Hudon. The Habs then make the decision to buy low on rental Jordie Benn in 2020-21. They wheel and deal the pick that was used to trade Hudon and Kulak. After Mete's deal, he gets another short-term deal, due to having to battle Chiarot, Romanov for TOI.

Ryan Poehling's deal is similar, if not identical to Kotkaniemi's deal (I forgot KK's length).

In the 2020 and 2021 drafts, Montreal strikes gold. In 2020, the Habs win the draft lottery and draft Lafreniere, who immediately signs an ELC. Then, in 2021, the Habs get the second pick, and draft defenseman Owen Power, who also signs an ELC.

Romanov, Caufield, Lafreniere, Harris all get ELCs in 2020-21.

With the massive build up of LHD, the decision is made to trade Ben Chiarot in 2020-21.

The purpose of signing Brandon Saad is to get a (somewhat) 1RW.

Par Lindholm is signed for a (sorta) 4LW. I didn't think Kotkaniemi would benefit from playing 4th line minutes, let alone 4LW minutes, so I left him in the minors.

Bracco offersheet is to give Bracco a second chance with MTL. I don't know if TOR would mind losing him.

The Canadiens have a lot of space, so they use that cap space to take cap dumps from other teams.

With Carolina's 2020 pick, MTL drafts Braden Schneider.

I'm looking at a list of 21 of Montreal's prospects and the 2 players in the Dekeyser trade aren't on it. Plus Dekeyser has an NTC and since he is playing in his home town I don't see him waiving for anyone. With Hudon and Kulak Detroit could use some LD depth so I think Detroit says yes to this deal.

I didn't know where DeKeyser's hometown was but I figured that at age 33 (or 32) 5M would be a lot
And Friberg is not a prospect

I found Friberg a 27 yr old who isn't going to play pro-hockey in North America.
