The Pens aren’t trading Crosby unless he asks to be traded, no matter how poorly they do.

Crosby won't ever wear another jersey, unless its Team Canada.
      Period.
      Guaranteed Hall of Famer.
A top-5 player of all time.
      No question.

McDavid to PIT is more realistic than Sid to EDM. Neither are happening any time soon. Although if Geno goes home early to Mother Russia......

Yeah Sid ain’t goiing Nowhere! He is more likely to become partner with Mario Lemieux after is career.
And just for the exercise i think Crosby would select Montreal if he had one other team to play for. Its was always is favorite team growing up and is dad have beem drafted by them!

I'd put McDavid and Crosby together, then Nugent-Hopkins and Draisaitl. Nobody would stand a chance.

      Not at all, really.

      1/2-Lemieux/Gretzky(in whatever order)
      3-Orr
      4-Crosby
5-I don't really care but not Ovi. Ovi is around 7-10.

HAHA. I see your point. Hopefully that jersey too, although I don't think he really cares about ASG appearances.

Crosby is clearly a top 10 but depending of the end of is career he might be 4th like you said but he also can be 9th or 10th in that list. There been some oustanding hockey Players in different era. Steve Yzerman, Jaromir Jagr, Marc Messier ( who remain the only one to be captain on 2 stanley cup team) Niklas Lidstrom, Ray Bourque, Patrick Roy (3 conn smyth). For me Crosby is right there with all of them at the moment. If he can finish is career in a strong way he definitely would deserve to be in the top 5.

As for Ovechkin he wouldn’t even be in my top 10. No disrespect to the guy, probably the best shooter all
Time but the fact that is impact in all other aspect of the game where much lesser then The guys i have mentioned above. Guy like Yzerman, Messier, Lidstrom, Jagr, Bourque where much more complete and played a better all rounded game.

I think Gordie Howe should be ranked at least in the top 5, if not top 2. Obviously he played in an early time period but he was pretty much the game’s first generational talent, like Pele in football. In a recent gathering, Gretzky, Lemieux & Orr all agreed that he was hockey’s greatest legend.

I would have Howe and Richard as well in the top 10 but I don’t see them making their case over Lemieux, Gretzky or Orr. Hockey was much tougher back then, guy where working to their day job then play the game who was really Hard back then. You could pretty much do everything you want with your stick, slashing, hooking even cross checking player and wouldn’t even be noticed bybthe referee.

Yeah it’s hard to rank Gordie higher than those 3 because he played so long ago & all his records got broken.

Yep absolutely! And those three where just so good, i mean they where in a complete differente league. You look at Gretzky and Lemieux how they could literally won a game on their own. I think that their Hockey IQ was over anything we have seem to this day. To me Howe was more a Marc Messier. He was though, a true leader and have longevity. But never been dominant like those three players.

all Howe did was play for a really long time...and get a ton of points...he's not in my top-10. I think a lot of Canadians (#truenorth) overrate Howe. NO disrespect, I'm a proud Canadian.

Meh I think for sure Howe’s legacy has helped him maintain at the top of the GOATS list for so long. Obviously in terms of skill, Sid, Gretzky, Lemieux & Jagr were way better than him. But to play for as long as he did is not easy, especially since he was a power forward who played a complete game like Messier in a rugged era. I honestly thought you were American since you are a Pens fan who claimed to despise the Leafs, haha.

Ok sure just ignore jagr, howe, datsyuk, hull.

I really hope you’re talking about Bobby Hull & not Brett, cuz Brett was a one dimensional player. He was only a good goal scorer, he had poor skating, poor puck handling & poor defensive player. No where near as explosive & dominant as his father. Honestly I would not rank any of those guys ahead of Crosby except maybe Howe & he’s higher due to pure legacy & not talent.
