Why would Petro sign a 4 year deal at below market value?

I mean he’ll make more that being a no income tax state so the money isn’t too far off.

With that term, yes it is. It'd be stupid for him to now sign a 4 year deal. He'd be a FA at 34 and at that point he's not getting a high contract. Better strike while the iron is hot u know.

FLA has its perks, but the team is struggling financially and is no close to being successful. Can't see Petro being that interested.

I could think of a guy who makes $10 mil on their roster they could get rid of

They'd probably have to package him with a 1st or two but I could see a team trading for him and CBOing him. I'd at least think about it if I was a GM but it'd be a hard sell to any ownership group

I like Haula but that's probably the worst second line in the league.

Agreed but their problem is defense and if they signed Petro for let’s say 9 trade Matheson and stralman somehow. And those two make up his salary so it’s possible. Will they do it. Doubtful but it would help this teams issues and bob will bounce back.

Suuuuure if they can trade them. There's just no market for overpaid bottom-4 D-men.

Agreed. That’s a big somehow. La may take a chance on matheson. Stralman would be hard though even though his term is low just not gonna be enough cal this year.

What is this Pietrangelo contract? Why would Pietrangelo take a 4 year deal?

Also where is Florida getting this money from? Melnyk?

that franchise i feel is gonna be gone by 2025 and will either be in quebec or dallas. Cause lets face it they aint making much money, they dont have much of a fan base as florida fans prefer the more dominate lightning, and when they attempt to fix their teams issues another occurs. Case in point Bobrosky, was supposed to fix the goaltending and now they are potentially in a 10million dollar mess.

Only reason 4 year I figure they wouldn’t want him 8 mil past 34 he is currently 30 around 34 they decline hence the 4 years for petro. Also in a few years Hubby and barkov will be making a huge pay day so you need to take in the long term aspect as well!

Any particular reason you're not re-signing Joshua Brown?

Only added Main roster players when singing people to contracts if they are AHL I left them unsigned but signed just not on the roster.
