I don’t even want Barkov but I thought I’d hop on the trend

Florida gets
- a Winger who is still adapting to the NA game
- the best Defensemen outside of North America
- a guy with 2C potential
-14th OVR pick this year
- a 2022 First

I think it’s even or possibly a small overpayment

Now that is actually a fair offer. If Florida is comfortable giving him I would take

As the Rangers, I wouldn’t do it, but this is what it would cost.

Yea I had that it mind. I was trying to make a package that would work to that idea. I feel that would work out well for Kakko

I agree, very well thought out trade. Fair both ways, like you said a bit of an overpayment but that will be needed

Having Barkov/Zibanejad playing 40-45 minutes a night down the middle would be deadly

Trying to equate this to other teams:

Kings = Villardi + Kaliyev+ Turcotte + 2 1sts
Canadiens = Kotkaniemi + Romonov + Caufield + 2 1sts
Senators = Brannstrom + Batherson + Norris + 2 1sts

I'm sure we can all agree that those are fair too right?

Montreal Romanov and Caufield are both listed Top 10 prospect around the league. The rangers Only prospect ranked innthe top 20 is Lundkvist. I don’t think that Romanov Kotkaniemi Caufield a 8th overall pick this year and another first round pick is equal to Kravtsov, Lundkvist, Chytil and 14th overall pick this year and another first round pick. Montreal assets are much more interesting and probably would take less of them to acquire Barkov. Same for Los Angeles the prospect and the pick they hold have lot more value then the Rangers one. Kravtsov and Chytil are no longer highly viewed prospect.

Last time I check it was Alexander Romanov who hold that title. I know it’s debatable and i agree that Lundkvist is a very good prospect but temper your comment.

If this is all it took to get Barkov the Rangers should do it but they should trade Trouba before his NMC kicks in so they have the cap space to resign Barkov and Zibenejad.

Curious why people would want to pay more for 2 Years of Barkov than like 7 years of Barzal...

Barkov is going to cost at least 12 mil to resign in 2 Years.

Tbh, id rather just sign him as a UFA or deal for him at the deadline after next season with an extension in place when his contract expiring for way less.

You know Florida ownership has zero interest in paying market value to keep Barkov around.

For the kings it wouldn’t be both turcotte and vilardi, it would be one and a combination of an NHLer and another higher prospect. And a first just not this years. Like I’ve mentioned in other posts, it would probably more like turcotte, Thomas/kaliyev/kupari, Iafallo, Walker, and a first next year (possibly top 5 protected)... id love barkov, who wouldn’t, but o say both teams decline as they are in different positions to win at this time. Losing all those prospects wouldn’t be productive from a kings stand point at this time.... again it is barkov though!

Barkov to NYR would need to be Kakko++. None of these pieces come anywhere close to Barkov.

Right....but that’s less value than is dealt here. It’d be like if I changed the offer to Lundkvist, Kravtsov, Lindgren, Lemieux and a 1st next year.

Rangers are in a similar place as the Kings.
