Too low on Trouba? That's the package you acquired him for essentially.... and his last season in Winnipeg was much better imo. I will concede it does take D longer to acclimatize to a new team, but still, Larsson = Poink at the time of trade.

The Georgiev deal is ballpark. He could not take the starting job from the King, and both he and the Kjng lost it to Sheshterkin. This lowers value. Further, there are some very good tenders going UFA that flood the market. Any team therefore acquiting Georgiev would be acquiring him to play 30 games. Citing the Campell deal with Toronto, where a 2nd and a washed up Hutch was moved for the aforementioned player AND an effective forth liner in Clifford, that deal as proposed is pretty bang on.

Aw man Swinny...this hurts. This hurts my brain a lot. Comparing Larsson to Pionk? Comparing Georgiev to Campbell? ooof.

I beleive both comparisin represent the market. There is zero market for RD...... see Buffalo. Larsson's game differs from Poink (better defensively), but yes..... in terms of age, ability and ceiling? Poink = Larsson.

Georgiev is young, but statistically, he not going to be anyone's Godsend..... Holtby, Markstorm and Lehner (the later most likely) go to a team looking for a legit #1, like Ottawa. Further, the goalie market is so thin, I Markstrom stays in Vancouver for a nominal raise, Insee Holtby on a short term deal. Lehner is going to be courted by Chicago and Ottawa imo. And if Vegas wants to keep him, Fleury moves.

Puttsburgh has one of Murray, Jarry and DeSmith to move. Murray arguably has more value moving forward than Georgiev, Jarry about the same; but the jewel is DeSmith who still has a year left at just $1.25 million.... and his AHL numbers are stellar.

Now Campbell, who fetched a 2nd, is under 30 and has a fantastic track record being a 1B. Georgiev does not. I am not comparing the two players. I am comparing the trade package in light of a flooded goalie market, which, I have spelled out. Georgiev IS NOT a pack of toilet paper during a pandemic. He is the cheaper gas because the supply is far outweighing demand.
