The current Leafs remind me of the great Canadiens, Islanders and then Oilers young teams before they broke through to win multiple Cups.

Tavares, Matthews, Marner, Nylander, Kapanan, Hyman, Mikheyev, Rielly, Muzzen, Sandin and Anderson with Robertson on the way ices a team of young stars on the edge of greatness in the NHL. The NHL and its fans have been waiting years for a powerhouse team like to this to emerge and restore the firewagon hockey style of play.

They will go 82-0 and Matthews will score 100 goals, Marner will have 88 goals and Tavares will have 347 assists. Jason Spezza will have a comeback season and notch 348 points on the fourth line, Rielly will have 47 goals and 116 assists and Andersen will carry a .28GAA and .994 save percentage while notching 12 goals of his own.

And then Toronto will get swept in the first round by the Bruins.

You sound jealous of the Leafs and what they are about to achieve in the NHL and return Toronto to the centre of the NHL universe.

You need to realize that the Bruins run in the NHL is over and died when they were taken out by the Blues in 7 games in the Stanley Cup final last year. You have to realize that their team is no different than the Canucks after they lost a 7 game Stanley Cup final and never recovered like the Bruins will as well.

"Run over" is a very good analogy...
Boston ran-over the Baby Leafs and many others this COVID season right to a 100-point year - tis over indeed!

I like the confidence, we need more leafs fans like you, a lot get slammed by too many other fans to say this stuff but it’s true, they have so many elite pieces and an amazing goalie, once they Mature figure out the fringe pieces this team is head and shoulders above the vast majority of other teams in the league right now

To my mind, the Leafs have assembled a truly powerhouse team of truly great young NHL stars. They kind of remind me also of the Chicago Bulls just before they broke through with Jordan and won 6 Championships.

Thanks for the compliment. You can either choose to be a believer or a nonbeliever in life and the true believers are the people who go on to accomplish major things in life. The Leafs under Dubas are building a true powerhouse team and organization and the rest of the NHL actually knows it even if alot of viewers on Capfriendly are not believers yet.

McGruf, I know you will find this hard to believe but do not believe what you just said. I watched the Canucks lose a Stanley Cup final in 7 games and you knew their time was over just like watching the heart ripped out of Chara and Bergeron after losing the 7 game final. The Canucks rebounded the next season in the regular season like the Bruins but then collapsed in the playoffs in the next 3 years and then bottomed out like what is going to happen the Bruins.

Nick Robertson is one of the best pure goal scorers the OHL has ever seen and you are correct in that he reminds me of Mike Bossy and especially if he gets to play with Tavares or Matthews.

Please don't bring up the Canooks and that 50-yr dumpster fire lead by a couple of soft-sisters! Help
They voted the best team all time in VAN and it was the 2011 squad - shoot me now!!

All your points are 100% valid as Anderson had off year and was hurt and also some key injuries to both Rielly and Muzzen did not also help him.

I agree with your point of Anderson becomming a UFA at end of next year and think Leafs are already working on that problem and would not be surprised if they sign a Russian KHL goalie to buy time while the Leafs develope their own prospects. The other thing is that their are a number of people in the hockey world who believe Campbell can be a No.1 goalie in the NHL as he was actually drafted in the first round on the NHL draft and then played behind Quick for a couple of years.

The best Canucks team of all time was the the 1994 Canucks with Bure and Linden.

The 2011 team only put up good stats because the NHL changed the rules so that hockey became like flag football with no contact. Then for some reason the NHL instruced its referees to let everything go in the final between the Canucks and Bruins and the Bruins just beat up the Canucks which was a total joke and just proved again that some of the real powerful owners in the NHL actually run the league.

Man those are great points and I'm sure it's likely more development is coming down the pipeline for TML and all the rest too.
BUT...
Ur buddy Austin is gonna be gone in 4 seasons or less now. And Dubas is the quintessential Rubber Ducky - calm on the surface but his little legs are churning mega underwater just trying to stay afloat and keep the rioters out of Raptors square!!!!
