The Leafs have the best forward group of any team in the NHL.

That’s a funny joke

Name me a team that has a better forward group than the Leafs. You are looking at a team that is going to start dominating the NHL for years to come.

My apologies as you did which I did not notice. I would pass on Boston, Tampa and Washington based on an age factor as their forward groups have some old stars starting on the decline curve whereas the Leafs forward group has not even hit their peak yet. Colorado is the interesting team on your list and think they are close but I would still take the Leafs with Tavares, Matthews, Marner and Nylander as just too much young talent.

On your Left side you have

3rd-2nd line - Hyman
3rd line - Mikheyev
3-4th line - Engvall
4th line - Clifford

You are right that this is the weakest part of the Leafs. However, you need to realize that Robertson is comming and he is going to slot into a 1th, 2nd or 3rd line leftwing role in the future. The kid is a goal scoring maching in the OHL.

Defence is no where near good enough to win a cup, Freddy is good but are you going to pay him after next season? I wouldn’t because he will start to decline very soon. The leafs have no heart there’s too many individuals who only care about their stats and can’t handle a little adversity. Bruins and Tampa are both better than them and you have to go through them to even get to the Eastern final....No cups for the leafs and Matthews goes home to Arizona empty handed when his contract is up.

Its nothing against you! Just that this guy have no respect at all for the great dynasty. The Leafs have some very great young talent but they are not near the Level of the Islanders or the Great Oilers or The Canadiens of the 70’s. These team have written history. I found that extremely disrespectful to even entertain comparing the Leafs to those team.

The problem with Toronto, is that they don’t have the drive to win. Look at all the great teams in history. Jordan and the Bulls worked so hard to get past Detroit. They wanted it.
The caps worked so hard to get past Pittsburgh. They wanted it bad. The leafs, just don’t have the work ethic and the desire to win. If they worker as hard as Jordan’s bulls did, they would be ECF for sure. They just don’t want it enough. Maybe that will change as they mature and get older. But you can see it in their play, they want the pretty passes and the plays to fall from the sky. It doesn’t work like that. They need to work and push themselves and have the desire within them to genuinely want a Stanley Cup, not the money.

Until they decide to work hard and want it, they won’t win

How dare you disrespect Hyman like that. What he lacks in offense, he makes up for with pure work ethic. Id say he's a 2nd line winger. He's been trending up, point total wise.

Hyman is actually a first line left winger and totally agree with you.

Hyman is a monster, he is worthy or 1st line no question,
Johnsson and Mik are both probably 3rd liners but Good ones so one in top 6 isn’t bad and cliff is a very good 4th liner that’s a hell of a strong weakness

Dermott is going to be an elite defenceman in the NHL.

Man I hope so, he has had flashes where he is exactly what the leafs need but then follows it up with a weak game or two, he is still young and if he works out I will be so happy but if he doesn’t they still got Sandin and Liljegren to go with Muz and Rielly in the top 4
