Preds need goalie help

Created by: RC333
Team: 2020-21 Vancouver Canucks
Initial Creation Date: May 9, 2020
Published: May 9, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I personally think Demko has a little bit more value than fabbro, sauros has to come back the other way to give Vancouver a backup goalie. A third is simply just to even out the trade.

Demko gives the preds a solid goalie of the future, rinne and Demko goalie pair would be amazing. Plus Demko has a good mentor.

Canucks get a Vancouver boy rhd which will help their need for a rhd. Canucks also re-sign the necessary players this off season.

Next year both these teams will be very good.

not really in 40 NHL games this season Saros has posted a 0.914sv. Preds decline as Demko looks less ready to be a starter than saros

Are you kidding me? Saros is a starter and their giving Fabbro?
I say Nashville easily passes. Saros has proven to be a solid starter

Through their early careers, Saros has been the better of the two goalies. Nashville loses the better goalie and Fabbro? Easy decline for the Preds

I agree rn Demko looks more like a backup than a starter. Sure saros had his struggles at the start but he was able to improve and has a SV of 0.914 which is pretty good for a future starter.

Idk about that because Demko was thrown into the fire when Markstrom got injured. Before that he wasn't started a lot. Demko was shaky tho but I do believe he will be a great goaltender in the next couple years. His potential is very high.

Sauros may have had the better season so far (better defence in front of him) but Demko has the higher potential for sure

That's fair, but do you think sauros can maintain his level of play for the next 10 seasons?

Bro Saros did way better than Demko did at Demko's age. I rather have Saros then Demko

for 4 seasons where he played 20+ games where he sustained a solid save percentage

thats what I am saying lul Demko may just end up a good backup but when Rinne retires Saros will be a great starter

If the younger Demko has "value" why trade him at all and overpay for the older Mark (0.911 SV% and losing record for his late blooming career)? At least keep Demko to TDL and see what he is first - No?

Besides, Mark's old-age will not mesh with the young core kids in EP40/QH and he'll likely retire by the time they're playoff-relevant. Moreover, next year you have about US$20M in Cap left (that's what QH-EP will get combined; and OK you can have $5M more if cap goes to $85M).
* Thus only 6-more players to sign w/ about $6M bucks to do it. Really gotta move out a lot more dough above ^ ^ ^ such as Loui, Beag, Roussel...

PS: You'll lose either Demko or Saros to the STARBUCKS either way...I don't understand that logic at all!
Only way Mark gets a contract as above is if he agrees to be un-protected...?

Just one of either Fabbro or Saros is worth more than Demko and a 3rd. NSH doesn't even consider this.

Saros was one of the best goalies in the NHL after January. No chance this happens. Saros > Demko
