Cue the Ceci haters... he's not as bad as people say, and hes' a good upgrade on Holl. Most Leafs defensemen played better paired with Ceci last seaon than appart from Ceci.

All draft pick trades could go to other teams if that makes any sense

Yes, they played better with Ceci because they were always far better than him and Ceci being literally traffic cone made them look amazing with him on ice.

Still was much better than Barrie and Holl last season.

At 2.6M, there isn't much to complain about with Ceci...

CBJ doesn't need d-men they say no. Plus ANA and LA are rebuilding why would they trade picks?

IMO, Holl was the best Leaf RHD. Barrie was the Leafs worse Dman, or either side. Ceci's play was just average. But for Ceci's sake, I hope he signs elsewhere. Think he the subject to much unjust criticism, even by folks who rarely saw him play. Gee, at this site, folks were criticizing his Leaf play in July somehow.

Because they'd get young, quality players that could be valuable building blocks. They wouldn't be giving up 1sts, too...

I disagree, but if you're that upset with the notion of re-signing Ceci, then pretend I suggested another defensman in the 3.3M range (i.e. Gudas or DeMelo), and we'll run with 7 D.

Both have no need for mid 6 forwards. Not the kind of players (who you can easily find in free agency) you want to acquire for good picks in a rebuild

Gudas or DeMelo are levels better options.. Ceci is worth league minimum contract.

If you're that upset by the suggestion, then pretend its a different team (like I suggested under the Team Explanation).

That’s a big no from Columbus unless we have already traded Savard and Murray and Anderson has less then 10 points at the trade deadline.... Columbus has no use in adding another d to the roster we have plenty of them. We d much rather get a draft pick for Anderson.

Unless Holl is a substantial upgrade on Clendening (I think he is one, but not a substantial one) this makes less than no sense for the Jackets.
