Why is Florida adding? Bracco is worth only about a 3rd and Florida's 2nd is higher than Toronto's. Weegar is worth significantly more than Dermott.

You are being very generous in saying Bracco is worth a 3rd. Undersized, liability in the defensive zone, nothing to suggest Bracco can make the step to the NHL at this point. Agree that Weegar is worth a lot more than Dermott. Yet another trade proposal in a long list of many on this site that has Toronto fleecing the other team.

People have to realize that Toronto will likely not be cap complaint unless they get rid of one of their 3 million dollar, 3rd line contracts and replace them with a minimum cost player, likely only creating a 21 or 22 man roster in the process. That is just to be cap compliant with no other moves. Thus, they are immediately bargaining from a position of weakness. The majority of other teams cannot afford to take on more cap then they return. The few teams that can do this are going to hold out for the best offers (i.e. not Bracco, not Dermott, not Johnsson, not Kerfoot) In order to improve the right side of the defense, Toronto will need to give up a major piece (i.e. not Bracco, not Dermott, not Johnsson, not Kerfoot). There is no magical solution to improving this team (read defense) without giving up a high end forward currently on the roster if the cap stays relatively flat.

This isn't near enough, but Weegar is a great target for Toronto IMO. He really broke out this season.
