That wouldn’t work for Montreal. Danault hold much more value then that. He is probably the selke winner this season. Would need Heinola to make Montreal thibk about it. Even then Danault won’t be moved they will keep him in Montreal since he is a fan favorite and clearly one of the favorite players among the coaching and managing staff. He is one of the best players around the league at 5 on 5, basically all is point since they don’t play him on the powerplay. He rank ahead guy like Tavares, Marner, Barkov. If i am not mistaken he rank 17th in the league for goal ratio at 5 on 5.

I highly doubt Danault is available rn. He's a hometown boy who will probably also sign at a discount price when his contract is up. He's as important as Brock Nelson is to you.

The value isn’t that far off, I think. Ha. Maybe take away the 2nd? I think it makes sense for MTL to move danault if they feel suzuki + kotkaniemi can occupy the top 6 C spots sooner than later. Danault would be a great fit in WPG imo

I couldn't agree more. Except he's probably not the Selke Winner but still elite defensively

Oh I completely agree, don't see the Habs parting with him unfortunately, he'd be great between Ehlers and Laine though.

O’reilly haven’t been excellent this year, Cirelli is not in the hunt at all like people seem to think, he is awfull in faceoff circle. That would probably have been between Couturier, Bergeron and Danault this year. Probably couturier would have a slight edge over them. But still Danault is right up there with him. Is possesion number are off the chart, he have been excellent in the faceoff circle both side(have taken a enormous amout to) he definitely haven’t received the credit he deserves. Montreal have been awful when he isn’t on the ice. I thibk they are -40 in goal against when he isn’t on the ice and +17 when he is on it. And that is by facing top opponent night after night. But yeah you are probably right Couturier have a outstanding year to and have been incredibly good in the faceoff circle.

And would make them serious contender! Danault is the perfect playoff player, great at 5 on 5 he could take the defensive attribution and let Scheifele take more offensive facoff draw.

Oreilly was the best forward at suppressing shot attempts this season, analytically speaking cirelli should be in the selke conversation, his underlying numbers are elite.

Yeah WPG could use a 2C that can drive play and is responsible defensively . I also think ehlers deserves a permanent spot on the top line. They should be legitimate cup contenders if they make those moves.

I’ll go against my fellow Habs friends and accept this trade. I know Danault is so HUGE for the team, what he brings on the ice is excellent, but with Suzuki Kotkaniemi Poehling Evans, I feel we need to kinda rebuilt. Keep Gallagher Weber Price Petry but Danault Tatar could be traded. It will be a step back, but maybe high reward in the future. The 2020 Jets 1st rd pick is around 15 I think, that’s a good prospect too. Vesalainen need some time but we have alot of LW right now ( Drouin Tatar Lehkonen Byron even Domi can play LW ). Solid offer

He is probably the selke winner this season.

Well that's one huge claim. He's good and his numbers are great, but a selke winner seems a bit excessive.

I think there's slight bias in that claim, not that it's unexpected or anything.

And Danault was the bast at intercepting pass in defensive zone. And yes Cirelli had a good year bit not comparable to Couturier or Danault or wven Bergeron. And the fact that he was not good at all in faceoff circle are just put him out of contention. I forgot mark stone who was excellent again this year.

Yeah that was a bold statement, nonetheless, he's a constant top 10 in Selke voting year after year.
