1 - He makes more right now
2 - I wouldn't really consider him a bottom pair guy.. he can and I would be comfortable with him playing 20 minutes a night
3 - He's a righty (always sought after)

Don't forget, we have two young dmen that are NHL ready within a year, Fehervary and Alex. Not sure we need to sign both Dillon and Gudas. It would force us to make a trade in the near term, I'd reckon.
