NJD won't accept Alzner for subban.... he might cost 5M more... but he generates more than that in jersey sales and media. He is a great marketing tool.

I agree, but personally I think Subban isn't immune to being traded. The Canadiens would probably have to sweeten the pot of that trade, however (no way Alzner alone and a smaller cap-hit gets it done). I would assume at least a second and a prospect? I am not a GM, but neither is anyone here.
