Bring the Tkachuk brothers home

Created by: BluesBandit
Team: 2020-21 St. Louis Blues
Initial Creation Date: May 13, 2020
Published: May 13, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Unrealistic and probably hurts us by taking away depth but would be fun to see the Bash Bros centered by BobTom.

Mindset for Trades:

CGY: Get Schwartz extended who can replace MT in Top 6. Allen can help their goalie situation, Kostin is a good prospect and a 1st.

OTT: Great prospect in Kyrou, Sanford had a breakout year (paced for 20g) and only makes 1.5 mil. He looks like at worst a really good 3rd liner. Bozak is a solid 3C who can be flipped at the deadline for a pick. 1st and 3rd because OTT loves draft picks.

Again, two huge moves like this probably do more harm than good. Also they probably are too in favor of the Blues, but what else is there to do in quarentine?

The calgary trade might work. ( I want the Kassian Tkachuck thing to stop lol)

I highly doubt Ottawa accepts. They're going to need more prospects.

Since when does a 40 point winger cost 2 potential top 6 players, an above average 3C, as well as a 1st, and a 3rd???

He scored 40 points because he's young and he's on Ottawa. No one else is really a star on that team.

Still doesn't even out what was just proposed. Tkachuks have always been overrated.

Hes averaging 45pts in 71 games the past 2 seasons, thats about 50 over 82 games. And thats played with barely any good players. He was also on pace to be the first player with 300+ hits and 300+ shots on goal this year. Hes also only 20. He actually drives his line too and has positive stats everywhere

What do you mean here? GMs trade for prospects and picks all the time aka potential.

I know. That's not what I was implying. I simply meant that Tkachuk doesn't have a star center or something like that who can really push him over the top.

Tkachuk is the Flames franchise player, the Blues would have to give up so much to get him

teenagers that score 20+ goals and put up 45 points on teams seemingly trying to lose while playing a physical game tend to be worth stuff.

Brady Tkachuk is one of the best individual generators of offense in the league. He's one of the biggest volume shooters, and he generates all his offense from within 15 feet of the net, where you are statistically most likely to score from. And he's done it without any 1st line talent supporting him. He's also an unbelievable possession player, on a team that gets crushed possession wise.

The only reason he's not a full blown Star at this point is because he's spent most of his career on the wing of 3rd line centers playing 1C minutes. Once he gets some star power to support him he's going to blow up.

There's no way St Louis can afford both Tkachuk brother plus resign Alex Pietrangelo, Where do you honestly come up with enough money to afford them long term? Cap might be flat for awhile here. Good luck with that.

So for a 22 year old potential franchise winger (MT) Calgary gets a 28 year old winger who has had over 60 points once, a cap dump in Allen, a mid level prospect and a very late 1st round pick?

Pretty sure Calgary takes a REALLY BIG pass on this one!

Wait one year and you can trade Kyrou and a first alone for Brady.
