That would be a no from Toronto. Nylander has such a good contract makes no sense for the Leafs.

Not 7m< thats for sure. If he was 30, then 7m is right. But he's not and is only getting better while that contract only gets better.

I don’t see Chicago ever accepting that trade, it’s very lopsided and favors Montreal greatly.

Smth like that. But that's why we don't make the trade because Suzuki is going to need an RFA contract thats a lot more.

Columbus says no pretty quickly.

That Chicago trade has to be one of the worst ones I've ever seen for the Habs. Both Weber and Danault hold more value then Toews and you're including even more significant pieces to acquire him. Very easy no

Toronto doesnt do that. Willy is locked up and they need wingers more then centers.

You're joking right....... I wouldn't even trade Danult for Toews alone. This guy is adding Weber, Tatar and a top 10 pick. Its ridiculously lop sided to chicago

Habs's D is bad and you want to trade Shea Weber? That's just fixing one issue (C) while at the same time making another issue worse (prospect pool and especially that D-Core).

It's not lopsided but it's bad for the Hawks in terms of lenghts of contracts. Toews's contract isn't good in terms of AAV but it ends in 3 years whereas Weber's has 6 more years. (Double amt of years compared to Toews) Either way this trade doesn't make any sense.

- MTL perspective: their D-Core gets much worse. Habs already have trouble to find the ideal LHD to replace Markov and now they also have to find the ideal RHD to replace Weber.
- CHI perspective: Hawks also have that absymal contract of Brent Seabrook which gives them 2 LT contract. (Weber and Seabrook)

Absolutely not a snowball's chance in hell on that Dubois trade. We end up without any top-6 centers, a bunch of picks we don't need and can't help us soon enough, and a fifth top-6 right wing. That trade would get Kekalainen burned in effigy.

I look at it like two teams that will still live in mediocrity and if they go to sell off Chicago walks away with a much better sell off. Dont think either team gets out of the lottery with the trade which means Chicago likely sells off Tatar = 1st round pick + back in a return. They probably sign Danault for another contract so they have 6 more years with him in thier top 6 and if they chose to move on from Weber there's another 1st round pick plus another asset.

So essentially MTL is giving up 4 first round picks for a player who doesnt get them over the hump and by the end of it probably only gets you a late 1st and a decent prospect back in a trade as long as you retain a big part of his contract.

Toews also isnt needed in MTL, they have thier future centers coming and Danult is a good cheap stop gap. It's a bad trade looking at the logistics for each team but it definitely has a better ending for Chicago because they get a good young prospect at 8th overall and they would get to sell of every other pieces for minimum 1st rounders. While MTL would be left outside the playoffs and only able to sell of Toews for a return that would likely be the same as Tatar unless you retain heavily on his contract .
