Blues hang up. They don't wanna take extra salary and they would rather have Parako over Nylander

Blues are already likely to lose Pietrangelo. Adding cap won't help re-sign him and now they lose Parayko as well. Doesn't make sense for them.

Blues are going to be forced to make a decision between pietrangelo and parayko. I see them keeping pietrangelo which mean a contract will be dealt on that blue line. Parayko makes the most sense considering they just extended both bortuzzo and Faulk

I think you are right about the question Parayko or Pietrangelo, but wrong about the answer. I think they have already answered with all the signings they’ve done that Pietrangelo is gone. Weird decision, but that is what it looks like to me.

But then they don't take back a larger cap hit in return, making it impossible for them to sign Pietrangelo. Look at their cap situation. They have $79m tied up next season already. That's $80.5m swapping Parayko for Nylander. With a flat cap, they'd still be letting Pietrangelo go as well.

If the Leafs magically get some cap room as you suggest, why trade Dermot? Leafs need all the NHL Dmen they can get.

Hilarious. Why would the choice of re-signing Petro be between that and keeping Parayko? Or that the contract dealt would need to be on the blue line? Or that anyone would imagine dealing Parayko makes the most sense? Dude, just no.
