seems like most Sabres fans hate Risto and give him away for peanuts on here. not sure if NJ is interested in that

Not on Buffalo, not that he’s what you want in a 2C, Buffalo would use him there until Cozens grows into the role, which is why this would make sense.

I suspect that’s the kind of guy Buffalo will target in the trade market and free agency, a guy or two who can be a very defensive responsible center who can chip in offensively at a rate of a traditional 3C

I think he has value, I would say this deal dives him away for peanuts, but I just think it will be tough to get a first or an A prospect for him because the underlying numbers kill him, and he’s not a sexy choice to trade for with most fans. Most Sabres fans want to trade Ristolainen, but few fans want him because they know the flaws.

I also have a hard time seeing any trades involving Ristolainen that don’t involve either taking back a bad contract or retaining salary or both because most teams that will be interested are going to be up against the cap as most contenders are.

Even though NJ could look to add a D, I’m not sure jersey does this because they probably want a left side guy and not a right shot guy where they are stocked up

Buffalo had better pray Botts sleeps in on FA day, last thing they need is to overpay another FA

Posted a Kapenen/ Risto swap with Buffalo retaining the amount required to wash the cap even - any interest

The kind of UFA they go for is a guy who comes on a 2-3 year deal, low risk like another Johansson. So someone like Haula or Soderberg
