The impending cap crunch combined with the fact that his comparables (disregarding this season... which wasn't good) are all making 1M less.

The only comparable with a similar contract is Jack Johnson (albeit Johnson's contract is 0.5M worse) who's contract also has significant negative value.

That’s not what i’m asking. What has made you think Moore is a 6/7 d man in the NHL? I think that most people have this opinion because he’s a 6/7 d man on the bruins. Well, they signed him because he’s more like a rock solid 5, that can probably give you second pair minutes if there are injuries (like he has with boston). Then Grzelcyk turned from some undersized prospect to grzelcyk.

He’s a 6/7 because he plays behind Chara, Krug, and Grzelcyk, not because of his own play.

Jack Edwards is a dope but I think he’s head and shoulders above most bruins fans. This city i live in actually has a ton of people that want to get rid of Tuukka rask. Think about how crazy that is.

When the Bruins signed him, they thought he was a rock solid 5 who could jump up and play on the second pairing if need be. Hence why his AAV is so high.

Turns out he is an average bottom pairing guy (a left handed one at that). The third pairing is generally reserved for prospects who have a low cap hit.

Never overpay your depth. The Bruins stuck to this rule very well. They just made a mistake thinking that Moore was more than depth.

Any team that takes on Moore would be letting the Bruins get out of their mistake.

Next season Clifton and Lauzon probably push Moore down to the 8D spot but he's a 6D man on most teams.

What makes you think this about Moore? Watch every bruins game? Half of them? A quarter of them? Just when they play the leafs and sens? What are you forming your opinion off of? Watching him play? What other people say here? Stats? I’m just curious.

John Moore is worse than Matt Grzelcyk. That doesn’t mean he’s bad.

I watch about a quarter of their games. Didn't see anything that made me think of him as being anything more than a 1M dollar player.
