Is this a joke? Why the hell is he getting an 18.4m cap hit?

Not commenting on the validity of the post, but when it comes to offer sheets, the offer sheet amount is the per year contract value, up to 5 years. Any potential contract that is longer than 5 years is still divided by 5.

Example, Canadiens offer sheet Barzal $55M over a 5-year contract. The offer sheet amount AND THE AAV would be $11M. If they offer sheet Barzal $88M over 8 years, it’s still an $11M AAV for cap hit purposes, but because the offer sheet is longer than 5 years in terms of offer sheet salary, it’s $17.6M ($88M / 5 years) per year.

Two words for you:

Lou. Lamoriello.

I think he takes the four 1st rounders for any AAV above $11M/year and makes a deal for a cheaper, slightly older proven center that costs under $8M.

I'd say the first Minnesota trade is close to fair, but there's no reason the Wild retain on Brodin without extra incentive. That also seems like a lot for Namestnikov. As far as the Stalock trade goes, I'd take that. I don't want to see them keep Dubnyk around, but maybe they run with a split games tandem of him and Kahkonen next year.

Domi is worth more then Brodin, I'll die on that hill.

Lehkonen is easily worth more then a 3rd, hopefully he signs a cheap long term deal after his RFA status which will make him even more valuable.

Habs will sign a FA backup, not trade one of thier top prospects for one

You can’t be serious, this guy is a Toronto fan and knows nothing about MTL. Lehkonen wasn’t dealt for Burakovsky, Domi > Brodin IMO and I’m not alone, and ****ing Stalock for Poehling AHAHAH this is a COMPLETE troll post, maybe add Price half retained with 2 1st round pick vs Girard

tears of joy tears of joy
Domi had 1 good 50 point season and Montreal now treats him as an elite centre. Jeez. I way rather have Brodin over Domi
Stalock is a starting goalie on a cheap contract. Why whouldn't you want him

He’s a back up goalie with small seize, Domi had a 72 points season not 50 points. Poehling a an A- prospect, not trading him at all.

Nylander never reach 65 points and you consider him an Elite player, they are both Domi/Nylander legit top6 forward, one is center the other winger.

Staloz has been a starter. He is on a very cheap contract. Obviously you don't know much about hockey
Domi is a 50 point player. 1 72 point season means nothing. Now he is back to his normal 50 point seasons. STop overrating him
Nylander is almost a point per game who got 30+ goals. He is elite

Brodin is more valuable than Domi, also Stalock for Poehling is in MN's favor, I'll give you that.

Eh definitely debatable. Consistency for Brodin has been there since he's been 18 years old. Domi has had one year that makes people think he's maybe a top line player, but the rest of his career isn't so reassuring. Potential is there maybe, but you don't bet on potential for a 25 year old.
