I personally don't think Hall is going to be worth 9.5M or whatever he gets this offseason. He's had some good seasons, some not so good and an MVP season.

Stars have to pay Heiskanen in the 2021 offseason and the only contract big enough to move is the Pavelski one and he has a MNTC of a 3 team trade list, all of which likely not be willing to eat a $7M cap hit.

For this one season though, Dallas would have a top 5 team on paper. Arguably higher depending on what moves other teams make.

Wouldn't mind moving those assets, but I don't see any team taking Comeau or Cogliano for picks as there are players just as capable as they are available as free agents for much cheaper.

Wouldn't move Faksa for that cheap though. Also can't see Ducks taking that deal. Honka is not a NHL player and Larsson is, so he's obviously worth more.

Acquiring Hall is a risky business though. I'd consider it twice before doing anything.

As an Avs fan I would be delighted if Dallas made these moves. $19m invested in Benn and Hall would utterly cripple this team going forward.

Hall only has 3 seasons over 55 points in 10 years, but will get paid on the back of one 93 point season.

Jeff Skinner is a 9 million player and he's far more inconsistent than Hall. Hall is probably going to get 10.

Who thinks that Skinners contract is good though? Terrible comparison

Yeah but Hall can use that as an easy comp when he's negotiating.

Except Jeff Skinner scored 40 in his contract year which matters cause Hall's never scored 40. Skinner also had 4 30+ goal seasons over 9 years while Hall only had 1 in his MVP season over 10 years. Hall also only had over 65 points TWICE in TEN seasons. Anyone who pays over $8M is going to regret it big time.

I mean he may not be worth is but as a UFA, and with his name recognition, it's hard to see how he won't make more than 9 million.
