Not a chance Leafs would accept that Wild trade.

Mariner is overpaid and overrated. Take him off the books and the possibilities are endless.

1. Shattenkirk does absolutely nothing for us. He would take power play time from Sandin and Lehtonen (whos been guaranteed a spot opening day)
2. I'm pretty sure Montour's analytics aren't the greatest so no way Dubas goes after him

Marner is a superstar who was on pace for another 90 point season. And is arguably better at age 22 than Patrick Kane was. The only way he gets traded is 1for1 in a deal for a young RHD like Seth Jones.

It doesn't matter if he's slightly overpaid if he's a top 10 winger in this league at the ripe old age of 22. He is under contract for a long time and would be hard to properly replace. You don't just throw away elite talent like that.

Guys, the OP is a pure Marner hater. I always see him making posts in which he gives Marner up for scrap & commenting about how Marner is a replacement level player. Ignore him. Even in a down year, the Leafs’ generated 23% more offense with Marner on the ice than without. Overpaid but definitely a top winger in the game. However, I think Fiala & Marner are at a similar level.

Fiala is an elite talent too but you are right this guy is a Marner hater. He always makes posts mocking him. He probably thinks Dustin Brown is better than him.

This post is a joke, but Marner >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Fiala. Fiala's good, but Marner is TOP5 RW in the league.

Marner is considerably better then Fiala. Fiala=Nylander if not for contracts.

Stamkos plays on the wing for 1 season and he's all the sudden a winger? I guess Blake Wheeler is top 10 centers because he played center for 1 season.

Wheeler and Gaudreau over Marner and Stammer

No way. Maybe last year but this year Gaudreau and Wheeler have been bad. It's possible that it's just a 1-year fluke but more likely Wheeler is starting to drop-off. Stammer is also way better then both of them, hard to argue against it. Prime Wheeler isn't better then Stammer is now. It feels like people kind of forgot about him imo.

Wheeler was bad because he was put at center, a position he's not as familiar with.

Still even if he had a season like last year, which he will never do again because even Blake ****ing Wheeler ages he wouldn't be as good as Marner.
