We decline. We don't need Risto who will play on the 3rd pair and Mojo is great but doesn't fit our youth movement

Ristolainen is probably a 3rd pair defenseman. But his cap hit is way too high for that role.

Drouin had a good year last year and was on pace for even better before getting hurt. Future 50 pt guy. We don't need Risto and Mojo as Risto isn't better then Petry/Weber and will never be and Mojo isn't needed with Danault/Suzuki/KK all playing center. I know he plays wing too but we have depth there as well. Also, Olofsson on the 3rd line?

It was just to balance the lines. I think he would still score 25-30 playing with Larsson who is a really good two way forward that will open the play up for Olofsson and Dylan Cozens.

No way Mittelstadt is a 2C next year. He struggled at the NHL level this year, and I honestly see him on the 3rd line with Cozens as 2C.

He has enough skill to play at the NHL level. But hasn’t gotten the chance to play with good players. He’s played with Sheary, Vesey, and Sobotka. All horrible players. I would like to see him with serviceable NHL players.

So 3C works well. He can play with Olofsson (very serviceable) and Okposo (eh... experienced I guess?) while Cozens gets a big boy job and plays with Kahun and Drouin. (Reinhart>>>Kahun)

Reinhart is obviously better than Kahun. I think Reinhart will help out Drouin and Mittlestadt more. Plus it balances out the lines.
