Thanks for the feedback. Agree. A RH RW who can play the left half wall on the PP is important...

Depending on if MTL does or doesn't sign him, there's going to be a lucky team that gets Mete.

Mete would be a good 2nd/3rd pairing LD if Pettersson falters

He also could be a net front presence like no other for Malkin and Crosby. Gally is one of my favorite players, Reinhart for the sabres is a younger Gally. I have seen him play some really nice games in front of the nice and he's a gritty player. He plays v well all around the ice. Positive Corsi player. Gally was really good this year though

Yes I would love to get Gallagher. I’m not sure if that’s enough to acquire both players, Habs fans will be screaming for that package for Gallagher alone.

If Gallagher become available make it sure the Habs will look for a top prospect, a first round pick . At 3,75 he is a real bargain and since team will all be tight against the cap he will become a primary target. And probably would have conditional pick included for extension

In that post, a MTL 31 in 31
I proposed PO Joseph, Bjorkvist, 1st for Gallager/Mete.
MTL fan said "I personally think you will not get that much for Gallagher and Mete. Maybe add something" I'll assume that's a mistype and means PIT should add more--is adding Ruhwedel/Lafferty enough? or would a prospect like bjorkvist even the scale?

So Poulin and a 1st and a conditional 3rd if he resigns?
What about Mete's value?

Yeah that would be the asking price. Montreal would probably take the offer which where the prospect would fill mostly there need. Poulin got size and skill would be a interesting one for sure.

I’m surprised he said that cuz a few months ago before the deadline, @Sidstick87 posted a Gallagher trade & the Habs fans wanted Poulin, Legare, Pettersson & 1st Round pick.

Too many moves, I imagine Rutherford is pretty happy with his team.

Can't imagine that value will get you Mete and Gallagher, but if it does sure, you def do that. Poulin's skating concerns a lot of scouts. POJ has a Dumoulin-esque ceiling, absolute best case.

Would be SHOCKED if they CBO Hornqvist.

I know they won’t make a ton of moves—just experimenting.
Yeah think MTL would ask for more.
I don’t think they would CBO Hornqvist unless they got 2 CBOs and the cap went down a lot. The only case for CBOing Horny is if JJ and Bjugstad could be traded—then Clearing Horny’s $5.3M would be huge. The front office, the team, and most fans live him in spite of the fact that he’s slightly overpaid and injury prone. I agree there’s almost no way he is CBOd.

If you want underrated analytic players, I was thinking of Nichuskin & Cizikas/Kerfoot.

The thing with Poulin is he’s not quick. His acceleration is awful. However, he seems to have good agility & edgework, plus he is good in all other aspects of his game. So I’d expect him to become a player.

Hope so..he's our best prospect...although I would not be surprised if he's traded.
if the cap goes down, GMJR would have to add cheaper pieces...Rakell would be amazing but would probably cost Poulin. Would you do Poulin, Bjugstad, and a 1st for Rakell? I think ANA would add a small asset maybe a 3rd pair D?

Maybe Poulin, Ruhwedel & 2021 1st but I’d think Anaheim wants Joseph added as well.

I've honest to God always thought that B. Gallagher would be about as perfect as a RWer for Sid in the NHL, He is a much more skilled Horny72 type player.
