It's pretty simple, really. You take a line's GF/60 and subtract its GA/60 and the result is its GD/60. That's it. I set the minimum time at 250 minutes arbitrarily to avoid the crazy numbers you get from small samples.

There's no bias, only facts. I didn't come up with these numbers, they're actual results from actual NHL games.

I have no idea if this is in, and not trying to sound leaf-biased, so this is more of a question- where does Hyman-Matthews-Marner rank?

No, I'm looking for suggestions, so thank you.

That line posted 4.01 GF/60 and 2.89 GA/60 for a goal differential of +1.12 in 374:04 TOI. Pretty close to getting on this list.

Could you look into Tatar - Danault - Gallagher ?
They have the best SAT stats in the league, it’ll be interesting to see how they stack up in GD/60.

Another good suggestion. These guys were 3.78 - 2.73 = +1.05 GD/60 in 572:04. Fantastic line but just short of this list.

I've changed my mind. Since both of these lines are very good, I'm going to use +1.00 GD/60 as my line in the sand. Thanks!

while I agree with this premise, how is it different than using a +/- as a stat. I feel like there are better stats that you could use.

If it doesnt involve any leafs players, then some of their fans think there is biased involved. They always have to make it about their team somehow

It's very, very different from +/-. If you look into what +/- actually is you'll understand. A quick google search should give you plenty of reading on the subject.

Lol. I changed my criteria to include a Leafs line. I'm thinking of changing it again to include a Penguins line - what do you think? Guentzel - Malkin - Rust were fantastic but only played 221 minutes together, just below my 250 minute cut-off.

Yeah that line carried them basically the entire year until Crosby came back. I think 250 minutes is a fair number to go off of though

It's so bad on this site, Leafs players are the best...they are worth the most, players take deals to sign their... It's horrible 😑

For the record they were 4.87 - 2.44 = +2.43 GD/60 in 221:34 together. There's no doubt Guentzel, Malkin and Rust were formidable while together.

3.79 - 3.39 = +0.40 GD/60 in 442:49. Took a really bad December for Tippett to split them up.

Prior to December they were 4.39 - 2.87 = +1.52 GD/60 in 355:19.
During December they were 1.43 - 5.74 = -4.31 GD/60 in 83:40 (2-8 actual goals). Just a horrible stretch, not sure what happened but it forced Tippett to finally split them up.

Any other suggestions? I looked at the Landeskog- MacKinnon- Rantanen line, but they were even this year. What lines were rolling in COL when those wingers were injured?

@TheAlien @StoneFan @Xqb15 @Jeuck75

These are the results I came up with on a previous thread.

@yeetmaster

I'll research WPG's top line as you suggested and let you know where it stands.

Any other suggestions?

Connor - Scheifele - Wheeler were +0.68 in 177:00, so they didn't play together a lot this year. Any idea how the lines were set up in Winnipeg?
