Thoughts on this part 1

Created by: jorTurtle
Team: 2020-21 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: May 16, 2020
Published: May 16, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
LA: They need LD, Roy is being treated like a god on here but he’s not the be-all-end-all, while still being a valuable piece to acquire.

ANA: Feel this is fair. Kapanen for Manson, 3rd for the retention.

SJ: 1st and 4th for the buyout, 3rd for Johnsson.

EDM: Assuming they buyout Koskinen, 1 year of Anderson worth a 3rd. Engvall, Malgin and 5th for Jesse. He ain’t signing with EDM so this way they get serviceable assets for him.

PIT: Not sure on this one, feel like maybe PIT may want more, but I’m a bad judge of value in this case. He has a piss poor year, but history says he should rebound (hence the 6x6.67).

Pens easily accept. If I'm the Leafs tho, I'd rather have Jarry. He'll cost less and is better. Who knows if GMJR has a preference

The sharks probably arent looking to move their future 1st round pick again, especially since they dont have the money to make significant upgrades to their roster even with losing Jones

Manson to the leafs is an awful trade fit doesn’t make sense for either team.

Ducks won’t move Manson unless a good young RHD comes back and the only one the leafs have is Liljegren who the Leafs shouldn’t trade

I swear I have this memorized by now

Maybe two 2nds instead of a first. I was also thinking the 1st might be a sticking point.

Manson doesn’t really fit, but thought I’d try something different than the million Severson trades I’ve seen. Maybe I’ll try something a little more drastic next time.

I'm about to hear how stupid I am, but Martin Jones #s nose dived with SJ sucking - case could be made in front of a better team he'd bounce back - I can only imagine the sting SJ would feel if the traded that pick package with Jones to TO and TO just played him - I mean Freddie was as leaky last year and now they have Campbell to play 20/30 games

I never thought of that, what a haul that would be if he ended up being a .915 or so.

I just keep thinking that the Pens are going to keep Jarry, just like they kept Murray over Fleury.

From what I can gather, they aren’t all thaaaat different, but Roy is an RD with higher upside apparently. He’s also still got one year left at league min.

To be fair they would have the money if the leafs used a CBO on Jones for them and the sharks used their CBO on Vlasic

I mean thats true, but I still dont know how confident they would be to move their 1st round pick a year in advance again

Those last three trades are self-fleecings.

That’s what I was thinking, that they’d use their own on Vlasic so they’d still need to move Jones. I’m going to try again later, got a few different ideas.
