So they buy out Matheson who is a good player. Trade very little for Domi and then too much for Ghost? More odd than anything else

Please explain how Domi is worth more than a 1st and 2nd.

Former 70 pt 2-way guy. I see between 60 and 70 pts moving forward. Worth a 1st and a young replacement player, like Zacha.

On a side note, wtaf was Florida thinking with that contract.

I don't know, it was especially weird how they picked the best goalie in the draft before signing him.

About Domi, I get that, but he's had 1 70 point season. The rest prior to that were not remotely close to it and the one after. So I think a 1st and 2nd is fair, maybe adding a better prospect would be good.

Maybe? I honestly think NJ should take time on this rebuild and for Montreal they could get more for Domi from a contender with space like Colorado.

I don't think that's worth it for Domi. Montreal would rather just hold onto him.

"A first" can have a lot of different values depending on more about it.

The first in question is greater than 1 year away (great limits the value) from a team trying to compete. That's not nearly as much value as it could be.

Your trading an open and shut 2c and guy who's trying to prove he can be a 1c
