Edmonton definitely doesnt have the cap space for that. I doubt they would do that trade anyways

Edmonton says heck na...Bear is worth Kapanen Kerfoot + IMO to EDM. They can get offense but a good young Dman on elc is very valuable

Not sure how the Oilers are going to add 6+ million dollars to their cap. That being said, I really don't think that package gets you Bear + Benson. Actually, I'm pretty sure it doesn't.

Love the Josh Anderson trade but I doubt CBJ would.

Do the Islanders really need AJ? Especially at the cost of a solid cost controlled RHD? Hmmmmmm. I would do that trade in a nanosecond if the answer was yes.

Turris is washed IMO. Even with the retention I'm not that interested and I doubt that Nashville would do that anyways.

I just really like Farrance. No doubt Turris has had a terrible time in Nashville, but he is only 30 years old. Feel like the Leafs could use a few more vets on the team. They are still so young. Maybe Turris isn’t the right guy but has a lot of playoff experience and hopefully coming back to the eastern conference revives his game. 🤷‍♂️

If Edmonton buys out Neal they can afford Kapanen + Kerfoot and resign AA, plus backup goalie. Bring up Bouchard.

Islanders were 22nd for goals for. Not sure why they wouldn’t want to take a flyer on Johnsson. They are tough defensively, but struggle to score goals. With Ladd possibly getting bought out, Mayfield could be expendable. IMO

The Jackets trade is a no-thanks. We've got a lot of RWs even if Andy leaves (that's a large part of why there's talk of moving him to begin with) so Korshkov doesn't really add value, and there's kind of a minimum pick value threshold in place (at least a 2nd, since that'd be the expected RFA offer sheet compensation). Personally I'd rather hang on to him regardless, but there's others here who disagree.

And the Preds trade is a Heck No. The idea behind a Turris trade would be to shed cap, and 50% retention is incompatible with same.

I would do that trade and put AJ on the 3rd line, I’m not sure the isles would because trotz relies on mayfield in key situations.

Part of the reason why isles are 22nd in GF is because their forwards play so low in the defensive zone to clog the slot. None of the forwards are allowed to leave the zone until the puck does so it gives the other teams D time to reset. Trotz system is too defensive IMO, almost every islanders F in the top 6 would have more points on another team.

If Dorion wanted the Buffalo 7th OA I think he would need to offer Botterill picks 21, 33, 46, 52, 53 and 64 (the other first, all four seconds and the third), then Jason may consider it, but I think the answer would still be no.

Turris at $3M would be an amazing deal, and Farrance is a Hobey Baker finalist with huge potential. Dermott is a bottom pair defenseman, and Bracco is a minor leaguer who's had one good AHL season. Plus they both need new contracts. You've got the draft pick going the wrong way in your proposal, but the difference between the two packages is more than a 3rd.
