Now that Trouba has negotiated such a great contract for himself, I too can't imagine him going anywhere unless there's some familial/geographic connection of which I'm unaware.

Well from what was being reported he'd only go either to the Rangers or Red Wings. So i'm pretty much assuming that he'd only go home to Detroit is he we to be dealt.

LOL, there wasn't any Geographic/Familial connection to NY either. Just had a bunch of hospitals for his fiance to work at. Similar to.... the Anaheim/LA area.

Trouba is very particular about
a) playing a lot of minutes
b) playing on the Right side.

He formally requested a trade from Winnipeg for that reason: https://www.nhl.com/news/winnipeg-jets-defenseman-jacob-trouba-requests-trade/c-282110382

Well with the emergence of Fox/Deangelo, Trouba is in a position where he will either have to

a) Move the the Left Side since he's the only RHD on the Rangers roster with NHL experience there.
b) Move down the lineup to the 3rd pair.

Both of those would be pretty long term changes, I can't see Trouba going along with that. I think he'll be happy to take his contract anywhere that will make him a 1RHD and is in the US. Anaheim is one of those teams, the Rangers aren't.

I'd like to have him here. He'd certainly be the unchallenged #1 RD in Anaheim. But I'd give up Max Jones before I'd give up Troy Terry.
