Thats just a very short list on everyone better than Thomas. So you are not correct, at all. Not even close
Either you don't read so well (like sabres1108) or math confounds you. Or both. There are 30 players between 21 and 50, so if I say that Thomas is already better than "a bunch" of them, pointing out 14 that are better than him (I'll agree for the sake of argument) doesn't prove I'm incorrect (much less "not even close" to correct). Yes, Thomas is better than several of the players in that 21-50 group, right now, today. Not all of them, but several of them.
The kid is top 15 among league centers in 5v5 points per 60. And FYI, in that category, he's ahead of Aho, Matthews, Kuznetsov, Barkov, Nugent-Hopkins, Karlsson, Barzal, Scheifele, Dubois, Hertl, Cirelli, Hischier, Tavares, Couture, Kopitar, Domi, Horvat, Backstrom, Getzlaf, Monahan, Johansen and numerous others on your little list and his top 50. And he's done that despite often playing with bottom 6 linemates. If he was on most any other team, he'd be getting a lot more PP minutes and blowing up there, too.
He's ahead of many of these guys in O zone entries. And D zone exits, for that matter. He's ahead of many of these players in possession quality despite playing 100, 200, 300, even 400 fewer minutes. He's ahead of many of them defensively (e.g. he's currently 12th among centers in 5v5 takeaways per 60). And now he's even starting to get wise on draws. Oh, and ya know, he made big plays, vital plays to help win the Cup as a rookie.
I'm not barking up the crazy tree here. He's just better than you think he is.
