That is the smallest package for Domi I have seen. There isn't even a LH d man involved

Trust me...I'm all on the Domi hype train. He's a great player to have on one's team, BUT he is a mojor regression candidate that will not be worth the price of a Montreal 1/2C. If anyone pays more for Domi, other than a replacement 2/3C + good prospect + potential 1st rounder, then they're either desperate or not paying attention.

All I know is that GMJR tried to get Domi once before, and GMJR typically gets what he wants.

that's a lot to give a guy to play a 3C role that is typically like 13-14 minutes a game.
On top of it, your cap going forward is so screwed up.
I guess you can fix that by CBO Hornqvist to start. Not trading for Murphy.
But in general, you are still paying a 3C 6 million a year. Ouch.

You really don't think another team would top that offer??

Your main piece is a conditional first round pick.

Where exactly is the incentive for MTL? Keeping in mind they have about 25 picks spread between this year and next.

Or Montreal could just keep him if they don't get what they want for him. You do know they aren't forced to trade him right ?

The way I see it, Domi can play 1/2LW (if Guentzel or Zucker get hurt); paying for the positional flexibility on a crowded forward group.

And the general assumption to all the rosters I make is that Hornqvist is going to be picked by Seattle.

You are not getting Domi for those no name! For god sake you paid a lot more for Zucker who is a older and not as good players. Nothing can justify this offer. Domi is Rfa with 2 year control, just turn 25, have been on pace for over 50 point in 4 out of 5 season he played.

Since when 3rd line center are use 13-14 minutes?? That a look around the league and most of them are use over 16 minutes. And Pittsburgh alone have had history to use there third line center a lot. Jordan Staal, Bonino, Sutter, Brassard ( who wasn’t a success) even Teddy Blueger this year. They are all have been use over 15 minutes and most of them between 17 and 20 min

    Line 1 20 mins
    Line 2 20 mins
    line 3 13-14 mins
    Line 4 6-7 mins.

Yeah.... this is really how things look.
It averages out. Especially given the 4th line here which sees a lot of minutes.
Brass averaged under 15 minutes a night for the penguins.....at a time they had basically no 4C.
Bonino averaged roughly12 minutes a night both years he played in pittsburgh. Frankly I was being generous when I put down 13-14. Given Domi talent level. With that 4th line being as solid a shut down line as they come,, he'd never see that time.
So yeah. I'm not arguing this with you. It is what it is. You are devoid of facts on that matter. Teams use 4 lines. The top 2 get the majority of the ice time.
Not sure where you get 3C getting used 17-20 minutes. That happens no where.
There is a reason teams don't pay them that much, even if they have a good one. They don't get the ice time to justify it. Instead they let someone try them at 2C for a higher price or over pay.

If he wants him he'll have to give a better offer than this cause it won't cut it. Bergevin's been pretty good at trading since he's in charge so he won't fell for a conditional first, an hometown boy that he passed 3 times over at the draft and a bottom 6 center.
If he still wants him it'll start with Poulin and then add.
