Reading the title I 100% thought this would be a Thornton trade. Turns out it's just high hopes for a bad team

If you want to get Thornton a cup you should probably trade him.

Dumbo doesn’t deserve a Cup. You earn the Cup by winning, not by having a good career. Hopefully the Sharks or Dumbo never win a Cup unless it’s a cup of kool-aid

No one really "deserves" a cup but I think every Sharks fan would love to see him lifting the cup.

Don't you think this is a pretty good team though?

As opposed to other fans who don’t want their team to lift the Cup?? I don’t get it

Are you lotto protecting that 1st you're sending for Iafallo or are you trying to help the Kings with their rebuild like the Sharks did for the Sens?.. Lol

This isn't a contender, wouldn't trust that goalie tandem and I'd think that Kane would be worth more then that.

Maybe, but not someone as good as Thornton who has played with us for this long and is 40+ years old.

It would be a 1A/1B situation and the main point of trading Kane was to just get him off the team (not because I dislike him I just think we could get cheaper players without them being much worse than him)

You don't think this team would make the playoffs?

Well idk, maybe Jones gets back on track but Khudobin has been playing on a good defensive team, will he be as successful on the run and gun Sharks?

Yeah I got why you moved Kane I just figured he'd be worth more but his trade protection and baggage might limit his return though.

Idk bud, I'm thinking they'd be a bubble team at best, I wonder what being another year older might do to this group and it lacks good depth if injuries hit.

The great 50 goal scorer Gary Leeman has his name on the Cup, Jerome Iginla, nope.

Life isn't fair.

Having 2 backup goalies isn't a 1A/1B situation. Then you added Anderson who's a risk, Jost who might be good in a few seasons, and overpaid for Iafallo.
Oh and there's no way toffoli signs a 3 year deal. This is his chance to cash in and get a long term deal.

1) Iafallo trade is...meh. Isn't horrible, but giving up another first is just kind of brutal.

2) I think you could get at least a 2nd back in that Colorado trade

3) I think CBJ would want more than that for Anderson

4) Toffoli is really underpaid and Anderson is a bit undepaid too.

Everything else seems on point.

Khudobin just had a .930 sv%. Obviously he won't get that again next year if he comes to the Sharks but even if it drops by .2 I would still be ecstatic. Anderson is a risk, but for that price and AAV i'm not worried. Maybe slightly overpaid for Iafallo, but not by much. Young forward on a great contract for one more season. I did this in the scenario that there's a flat cap and no cbo so I can't see a team offering him a huge deal. With a flat cap and no cbo 6 million is a very good offer.

Khudobin did that on a really good defensive team. GM's have never worried about spending owners money before. A flat cap isn't gonna change that. Zuccarello got a 6x6. Some GM will give Toffoli atleast that.

And that Zuccarello signing was horrible.
