With all the talk about Cirelli or Sergachev OS's, maybe the best/most realistic OS target in Tampa would be Cernak. Colorado could use a top 4 RHD who can help the PK (Cernak is on Tampa's top PK unit this year).
SJ are up against the cap and would probably take the 1st + 3rd compensation instead of resigning Labanc after the year he's had. He'd be a good fit as playmaker next to Kadri and Burakovsky, as well as helping the PP.
In this AGM, both Cernak (3 year OS) and Labanc (2 year OS) would be RFA's at the end of their respective OS's. With a flat cap players will likely settle for shorter deals, particularly if they can get slightly higher AAV via offersheet than they could on short-term deals with their current teams.
Cernak would be exposed, but at the cost of a 2nd it wouldn't be that big of a problem if he got selected, particularly as we would in that case keep Donskoi/Nichuskin/Johnson/Francouz.
They want to keep Cernak, Cirelli and Sergachev, but if any of them decide they don't want to take a significant discount from their market value Tampa will have to let at least one of them go.

Your clearly clueless. You don't know anything about tampas taxes. This is pretty much 2.2mil for tampa. Plus, if they let go of cernak who replaces him? All they need to do is trade killorn and cbo gourde and their fine

They just need to trade gourde and killorn and CBO McDonagh,

The tax rate in Colorado is 4.63 percent. That equates to 148,160 in taxes on a 3.2 million contract. So no 2.2 is not the same as 3.2. 3.05 would be the same as 3.2. Just trading Killorn and if there is a cbo which seems unlikely then that frees up room for 2 of 3 unless of course they all agree to significantly less than their market value

and McDonagh just in case someone offersheets someone in tampa,

Colorado has 4.63% income tax, hardly that big of a jump up from Florida's 0%. So $3.2m in Colorado is higher than $2.2m in Tampa.
It's around 2.8 In tampa. Got a little mixed up
It would have to be over 3.2 for them to not match
You'd think that other places with 0 tax would get massive benefits like the lightning do if the tax argument were to be believed no?
Florida doesn't get discounts, neither does Nashville. Colorado and Vegas don't either - all of their contracts are fair to bad.
The tax argument is just lazy bull**** that doesn't accurately describe what is happening and doesn't stand up to even the most simplistic criticism.
What do you think Anderson would cost in a trade, and what does his next contract look like in term and aav?
I think at most he's making a 4x4 but could go for something around 3x3 on a team like the Avs. He may even be willing to do a 1 or 2 year deal that walks him to UFA on a really cheap deal if he's guaranteed a top 6 spot. Don't think he'd cost more than a 2nd, definitely wouldn't have to give up a 1st though
