Romanov likely starts in the AHL. Don't be suprised when this guy scores 4 pts in his first season tears of joy

I'm not sure if you've watched him play before but he's a stud. Bergevin also said that Romanov would start in the NHL as the 5th or 6th dman.

I wonder if Petry is nice enough to give him 26. The management may ask Petry to give it to make him more comfortable when he gets here.

Yeah but then what would Petry wear? The dreaded 28?

Or a Petry trade over the summer for a D-Man JUST for the sweater number!

Yes he's incredibly sound defensively. Knows his way around his own end well. But DFD's always have trouble with the ice change. If Lehtonen will likely spend 5-10 games in the A, so will this guy.

And what I said about 4 points is not incorrect. He had 0.16 ppg on a dominant KHL team. (And when I mean dominant they were winning 75%~ of their games) Given that you could assume on the average team (50%~ winningness, similar to MTL) he'd score about 0.11 ppg. With a 0.7 eqivalency rating from KHL to NHL and less for defencemen (0.5) that gives up a PPG of 0.05. That's 4.1 pts over a 82 game schedule.

Of course he will probs be better because of age and an offensive defencemen on his other side so maybe 10 pts?

I think that you rely too much on stats. Romanov will probably be playing on the PP because Bergevin knows that he has that offensive upside. Also, he has a booming clapper that can go straight through the forward. I think he'll get close to 25-30 points. Maybe 7-10 goals and 15-20 assists best case scenario.

You realize he didn't score a single goal in the KHL this year? Some shot huh. Lehtonen, the best OFD to ever go from the KHL to NHL is projected to get sub 30 this year.
He is not going to get PP time, since you would have to cut Petry or Weber. He will spend hours on that PK though, which is his specialty.

I'm not saying he's bad. Manson is considered very good and he doesn't score goals, right? You're not getting another Weber. Your not getting a Barrie.
Your getting a Manson. Try and get that inside your head. Toronto is getting a Severson or Risto, your getting a Manson. Manson=Severson. Please try and keep this in mind.

Romanov has a crazy clapper. If you watched the WJC, he was their PP quarterback and can play the top of the Umbrella on the 2nd unit, with Petry on the left for the one timer. Also, I never compared Romanov to Barrie. He is much closer to Weber than Barrie.
