I think they’ll try to keep him until they give up one of the goalies in expansion. But I don’t see how he clears waivers again.

Why tf wouldn't you ship Jarry off? He is easy picking for Seattle. You could get at least a 2nd and a good prospect/CBO on Johnson for him

See I’m glad you get it...I’ve been doing that on here a lot recently and every time I do it someone gets jammed about it. But I think Pittsburgh makes Seattle take Murray in this scenario because Murray’s contract would free up money to extend John Marino.

Well it depends if you think you can win another cup. If yes then trade Jarry and let them take Simon or Sheary or someone. If you need to start rebuilding keep Jarry and get a good pick for Murray, and expose an older guy instead.

I think they’ll be able to be legit contenders for another 3-5 years because their top 9 is incredibly good and they have 3-4 guys in their system who will be able to slot in and contribute while still on ELC’s.

Ya but when Letang/Crosby/Malkin start to decline they'll be stuck with bad contracts and an old team. Will be rough times.

It could be but the only contract that’s locked in super long is Sid’s and I think we can expect him to still be good into the end of the deal.

You don’t think it’ll make it to the expansion draft when it can be sorted out?

Keep all three goaltenders and protect DeSmith in the expansion draft. Let Seattle make your goaltending decision for you.

I don't think that either of them will want to sign a contract to purposely be the expansion draft bait. From our eyes, from like a video game GM point of view, yes, signing both would be the best option. However, if I am the goalies... trade me to a team where I can play or I am listening to offer sheets.

Damn that’s gonna be interesting...I’m of the mindset that they can’t commit to Jarry over a 20 something game sample size but they might honestly have no choice.
