TB Offer Sheet Cap Relief for Goalie

Created by: HockeyNut82
Team: 2020-21 Detroit Red Wings
Initial Creation Date: May 19, 2020
Published: May 19, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Cap stays at 81.5M for next season (Thanks Corona).

To be honest, not really certain what amount it would take for TB to let Cernak go, just know they are cap crunched. Looking for TB fans to chime in on what they think it would take to TB to not match an offer. Part of me thinks TB would match a 4M AAV offer, because they might be able to get more back in a trade than the 2nd Round compensation.

PIT would give you Tristan Jarry for taking on Jack Johnson.

Interesting. Johnson has three years remaining though... but less AAV. Interesting because I feel Johnson might actually get to play some, seeing the D on DET is lacking. Get some value out of it at least. Having Loui sit on the bench at 6M is hard to swallow.

Demko vs Jarry - who do you think has higher chance of being long term starter?

I think they’re both equally similar as they were highly touted guys who ended up being late bloomers.

4 million probably gets you Cernak. Anything less than 3.5 becomes muddy waters.

Yeah that's painful to see.
