Lehtonen didn't sign with the Leafs to be a healthy scratch. He will be replacing one of Holl or Dermott.

The Patrick trade could be a home run but he's a big risk and I think Philly would rather take the risk themselves

Disagree. He still has to earn his place in training camp - as for that matter does sandin. I think lehtonen and sandin will alternate as healthy scratches to start the season. Given muzzin and Reilly’s injury history it’s pretty smart to have a seventh defenseman not named Martin marincin

I don't agree with you. Lehtonen gave up fourth pairing minute opportunities with the NJD and Canadiens to be here in Toronto. He will either play a 4th pairing defensemen role or be paired up with Sandin on the 3rd pair.

Then maybe sandin starts the season as a healthy scratch. Either way I think it’s very likely that both players with see substantial ice time this season given the probability of an injury. I’d rather have sandin in the press box than marincin playing shutdown minutes because muzzin gets hurt

Please stop with the Patrick trades. Philly has no incentive to sell with his value this low and no team is going to overpay with his health risks

No he didn't, he just didn't want to play for non playoff teams and TO has the best development staff in the world that's why he signed in TO
