Wtf, why is Debrincat in this trade? Does everyone here not understand taking Murray does Pit a favor and he is worthless in the NHL? Pit has to pay for someone to take him, people stop putting real players on the other side, let alone a star,

I figured debrincat was the longest of long shots, but Murray isn't a valueless asset. He had two cups as a rookie and could pull some real value. Debrincat is way overambitious I'll give you that

Murray for Shaw and Alex Nylander. no other pieces. That's my pitch.

I don't even know if they can afford taking Shaw

They might have to make a second trade but a 3-4 million forward cap problem is better than a sitting with a RFA goalie nobody wants problem.

Murray has value. He's a cup winner with only a few bad seasons and more than a few very good ones.

If Murray had value, he wouldn't have stayed in pit at the deadline. Pit would have moved him for a rental. The teams that would need him like Chi would have jumped on him. But his bad seasons are recent and everyone knows Pit has a surplus at goal and Murray is the odd man out. Another reason his value decreases.

As a pens fan I can confidently say they kept him because having two starting caliber goalies is better than having one

As an unbiased fan I can tell you Jarry and DeSmith are what you are going with in the future and everyone knows it.
