Puljujarvi is significantly more valuable. He's a much better player with more upside.

I’m not sure, personally I think because Puljujärvi has more NHL experience, slightly exceeding a times, and that he is a bit more highly touted as a prospect makes him a worth just a bit more than Anderson.

He certainly has more "opportunity". 1700+ NHL mins, all he has to show for it is 7 NHL points without contributions from McDavid/Drai/Nuge....

Andersson has 7 NHL points in under 700 NHL mins and none of those have a single contribution from anyone who has ever had 60 points.

Andersson has done the same as Puljujarvi with SIGNIFICANTLY less in terms of teammates, and ice time. They just matched point/gm rates in Europe this year.

Frankly given the dead even production some might give the nod to Andersson because he's a superior defender and a C. But because of Puljujarvi's higher (though seemingly more distant) ceiling, it's even.

from the rangers POV they really dont need another winger. While pool party has more upside, it is better to not sell low on lias and keep him. Rangers biggest question is in the center position.

Then why has he only ever scored in the NHL when Elite players do all the work? Seems like he's a stand still shooter or net front clean up guy.

I mean here's all his NHL scoring, you want to try counting how many times he did more than receive a juicy pass or rebound in the slot and flick it towards the net? You won't need many fingers lol.

Here's he is in Liiga...spoiler alert, it's more of the same.

Lias Andersson is not anything resembling an NHL player

So from a neutral hockey fan, what's you take on the JP+B prospect(Samo) for Lias and lower of NYR's first rounder? I understand why NYR backed out of the previous swap in December JP for Lias and NYRs only first was a crazy ask at the time.

The 1st isn't going anywhere you can get that out of your mind now.

Was asking the neutral fan his opinion cause I already knew yours. When JP throws an IIHF medal into the crown then I'll consider him the same value as Lias cause the history of attitude problems for Lias makes JP just that much more valuable imo

I don't see how they could possibly expect a 1st in return, even if you add in Samorukov/Lagesson. The ask mid season was reportedly much lower than that (The ask when Ottawa was kicking tires was a 2nd and a young forward) and nobody wanted to do that. I don't see how the asking price could have possibly gone up from then to now.

If I post a car on craigslist for 8 grand, and nobody is interested, I'm not going to have any luck if I then post the same car for 11 grand.

Where is the upside for Andersson in your mind? Because what I see is mediocre AHL production and a player who gets absolutely carved at the NHL level. He's not a fit as a bottom six player, and nothing about his play since coming to North America screams top six talent.

I'm genuinely interested to know what about Andersson puts him so clearly ahead of Puljujarvi in your mind.

Get real not happening, Holland reportedly already turned down Andersson and Puljujarvi 1 for 1. Right now Puljujarvi has more value then Andersson. It's not even close.
