Montour is an okay fit, but I don't think you give him 4 years when you're already locked into 4 years of Nikita Zaitsev. Also Zub is 100% in the lineup opening night.

I don't see the appeal in adding players like Killorn or Johansen. These are moves for a team looking to be good now, which I don't think the sens are. Sens can and should be willing to slow play the rebuild. Make trades if they make sense, but they are building long term.

Instead of trading for a C like Johansen, Sens should take Rossi 4th imo.

fair enough, but i do think they will need one or the other. The team cannot be so bad that there's nobody for the kids to lean on, but also not good enough that it defeats the purpose of a rebuild. I think RyJo is a decent bid because this rebuild will likely take three more years and the majority of his contract, while also helping to get the team to the cap floor. He can be used initially on the top line and slowly shift down as Brown/White/Norris improve.

I think that if you Draft Rossi, then trading for RyJo is just too limiting for the Sens. Sens aren't so far off from their top Centre prospects being ready that they need to add someone on a long term deal. Logan Brown probably will be given the chance as 2C next year, Norris will be ready for that role by the end of the season, and Rossi could very well be an NHL player this season (I don't think he will, but he's very NHL ready). At most they are two seasons away from Rossi-Norris-White/Brown as your top 3 down the middle. I don't think that's a troubling amount of time for a rebuilding team.
