Description

There are a lot of qualified players eligible for this team, and seeing as it would hypothetically exist in 2 years it is hard to know who of the older guys might regress, and who of the younger guys might improve enough to make it.
I also based this somewhat on the lines that I created, as I see really dominant lines here rather than necessarily the best players in the highest lineup spots. There are some guys who I would argue are better than the older veterans on this team, but I think the veterans are likely to get picked because this is international hockey.

These are my picks for the team and the lines, and I welcome any opinions on who you would take instead, but please be respectful. There are a lot of qualified players and I made a lot of decisions based on who I think will get picked, rather than who is necessarily the best.

Scratches are defencemen who are very close to making it.
IR are the forwards who just miss the cut
LTIR are the other goalie options

Yeah that makes sense, I just though I would put the Nashville guys together, a lot of international teams tend to go for chemistry.

I agree completely, seems like they have the best defence core of any nation (even Canada and the US) and they have a forward core that is more than good enough to beat the Americans and Fins. Having Markstrom and Lehner as a goaltending duo would also be extremely good if the last two years are any indication.

Very good point. I actually did make a team for Canada, you can see it yourself that there were a lot of guys I had to list as final cuts because there are just so many options.
