Description
I propose to you an analysis of your favorite team...

You need to include:

-your favorite team's strength
-its weakness
-how you would try to fix the weakness without affecting too much the strength
-a CBO is allowed (but not mandatory)
-a flat cap
-coaches can be fired

Copy this so that others can see this idea to keep us entertained a bit until real hockey (hopefully) comes back.

Blues

Strength: I think the biggest strength has to be the overall defensive discipline and structure at 5v5. They rarely breakdown and require great individual efforts to beat. The powerplay is also a massive strength and Savard and Perron have given us a very dangerous first unit while the second can hold its own as well. Goaltending is also a huge strength.

Weakness: No real weaknesses, but they are a relatively dull offensive team at evens and the penalty kill has been pretty bad as well. Not currently a weakness, but the summer will mean a big time cap crunch.

Fixes: They both kind of will work themselves out as Tarasenko will return as the teams best 5v5 scorer and increased growth from the young players (Thomas, Kyrou, Dunn, Sanford) will help as well. The penalty kill was improve because Scandella is a huge upgrade over Bouwmeester and generally all the skaters (outside of O’Reilly who’s weirdly awful on the kill) are good.

I don’t think there will be CBO’s but this scenario allows one. I generally get the sense that it’s not out of the question that Steen retires or the team pulls ltir shenanigans

    1. Marody, Cooper
    2. 2022 3rd round pick (EDM)

    1. Bozak, Tyler
    Additional Details:
Saw this trade in an Oilers AGM. Blues will miss Bozak and he’ll be a great fit in Edmonton, but the cap is the cap.

Say that to Caniac 7 times over that Peitrangelo is petter than Hamilton, and that Hamilton is worth Matthews +

Marc Savard came in to coach the powerplay this summer. All he did was put Perron on the left circle (who knew putting your best shooter in the ovi spot would work lol)

Ehh, Hamilton might be better. Pietrangelo’s offense, powerplay ability, and penalty killing is insanely good, but his defensive ability at 5v5 is pretty overrated.

Just asking, but wouldn't it make more sense to sign Dunn to a longer contract so you can avoid paying him a lot more later?

Yes, but they can’t afford the money that a long contract would be
