this team has no business in the playoffs.

72 points, last place in their division.
Might as well let Detroit in at this rate.

Don’t be so sure about that. I’m not saying the Hawks have any business being in the playoffs but it would be foolish to discredit Kane, Toews, and Keith in the playoffs. Crawford can easily get hot and win 3 out 5. It will be a good series

In this hypothetical situation (considering it's the playoffs) I think you need to roll (3) scoring lines and while Toews (technically counts as a scoring line...maybe) needs to be the shutdown line to the best of it's abilities with the backup dline being the 4th line. Kane can swap out for Nylander and double shift at times...making each line more offensive.

Caggulia - Toews - Saad
Kubalik - Dach - Kane
Debrincat - Strome - Nylander
Carpenter - Kampf - Highmore

My guess would be:
Caggiula - Toews - Kubalik
Nylander - Strome - Kane
DeBrincat - Dach - Saad
Highmore - Kampf - Carpenter

What's the rationale behind the lines? Kubalik was cranking snipe after snipe with Kane at the end of the season. It's why I think they can handle a lesser proven Center. Also, Nylander has found more success in a bottom six role compared to a top six role. Just curious to hear your thoughts. Cheers!

The top two lines were playing quite well together before the season stopped, and I would rather have Nylander sheltered with Kane than dragging down an otherwise shutdown line. Kubalik should definitely be on PP1 to keep getting those snipes, but I liked him with Cags and Toews at even strength. That leaves DeBrincat Dach and Saad for the 3rd line, and I think those guys have complementary play styles, and would also give us 3 at least decent scoring lines, with one shutdown line.
